External hard drive useful for fast data transfer

An external HDD works like a standard hard drive  or an SSD, except that it is connected to the computer from the outside. Some types of external hard drives transmit power over the same cable as the data cable, while other models require separate power. Regardless of the capacity of each external HDD, they can connect to a computer either via USB, eSATA, or even wirelessly. Being small, external hard drives are portable and you can have and access a large amount of data at any time you need.
